Extensions and Alterations to a Grade II* Listed Medieval Timber Framed Hall House

The house is considered a key building in the Conservation Area and is highlighted in Medway’s Upper Bush Conservation Area Appraisal as a grand building “…of the Wealden type with decorated moulded doorways, ‘Kentish’ style tension bracing, coving and jetties.” . The proposed oak framed extension and internal alterations create a large kitchen/dining space with improved views and access to the garden. A separate cloaks and utility area is also provided. Planning and Listed Building Consent were achieved by Andrew Petty, who is now a partner at Michael Conoley Associates, and detailed construction drawings were also produced by MCA.

From the client:

“Andrew designed an Oak Framed Extension for our 2* listed property and we couldn’t be happier with it. The plans he drew up at the start were exactly what we wanted and our builder was able to follow them to the last detail…He was brilliant throughout the process and we honestly wouldn’t change a single thing. We couldn’t recommend him more highly.”
