New contemporary dwelling, The Sands, Surrey

We secured planning permission for the demolition of an existing 1950s dwelling and its replacement with a new dwelling in The Sands, which is located within the Green Belt, the Surrey Hills National Landscape (formerly known as the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and an Area of Great Landscape Value. When MCA were engaged on the project, the site had an extensive planning history which included schemes dismissed on Appeal. In order to address the previous refusal reasons whilst still maximising the size of the replacement dwelling, a contemporary architectural style was adopted to ensure the substantial property would sit comfortably in its surroundings and utilise the sloping nature of the site.
